Loving the Skin You're In!
The cold has arrived and your skin might be asking for some extra love.
October has ended and it seems like those cold nights have arrived on the East coast. (You can now find me tucked under many cozy blankets until summer) This the time of year when I start kicking my skincare routine into high gear, especially because my skin also starts crying for help with the coldness. While I have been extremely blessed with very low maintenance skin, I am someone that makes sure to take special care, after all your skin is one of your largest organs!
I don't pretend to be an expert, but here are few tips I hold to be very true for having great youthful looking skin.
Happiness! Think about this for a second...we notice during/after major life events (wedding, having a child, etc) that women have SUPER glowing skin. Happiness shows and will show through your skin also! Take more times to enjoy the small and big moments that bring you happiness it will reflect through your skin!
Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! Your skin is a large organ and the more water the more supple your skin will look!
SPF should be your best friend and part of your daily routine. It doesn't matter if you spend your entire day outside or inside working at a desk. Even on the cloudest day it is important to protect yourself from UV rays. Find a lightweight sunscreen with SPF 15/30+ that you will use everyday either alone or with your makeup. You are never to young or to old to start wearing a daily SPF!
Moisturizer day and night. I personally think you could never over moisturize. I use Olay Complete Moisturizer with SPF15 during the day before applying makeup and then at night I slather on Fresh Deep Hydration Rose Moisturizer with Hyaluronic acid.
Sleep, relax, and take care of you. Being kind to yourself and taking the time you need shows!
Eat well. Taking care of your insides will reflect on your skin. While I know how difficult it can be to maintain a healthy lifestyle 24/7, being conscious of how you are fueling your body and with what kinds of foods you are eating keeps your skin glowing also! Start with just be minimizing processed foods and sugars and see if this helps your skin look rejuvenated.
While I also use a number of other products, these are the rules I follow and find to be my holy grail. How are you taking care of your skin? Do you slather coconut oil all over? Use a DIY exfoliator you can't rave enough about? Let us know your holy grail rules or products to love your skin!
